Why Didn't You Answer Me?

We had this conversation at bedtime tonight.

Chloe: Mom, I was calling you so many times from upstairs just now. Why didn't you answer me huh?
Me: I was busy eating my dinner. Why did you call me so many times?
Chloe: I wanted to watch Peppa Pig but kor kor won't let me watch. He wants to watch his Ninja Warrior. Why didn't you answer me when I was calling you huh?
Me: I was busy.
Lucas: Chloe, it is very rude to say huh
Chloe: No, it is not rude.
Me: Huh is not a proper English word.
Lucas: Chloe, you are not speaking proper English.

My kids....
Tomorrow is the last day of school for term 2. They will have 2 weeks Easter break. We will be going to Hard Rock Hotel in Penang (where else) next weekend. Next week onwards is going to be challenging. My maid of 2 year is leaving us next weekend. I will be getting a temporary maid until the new maid arrives, hopefully end of April. With the maid(s), I have to train her all over again and hopefully things work out well. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed. That will also mean, we will not leave the kids alone with the maid for the coming few months. I have to work from home more, Dominic has to travel less and no more 'me' time. Ah...juggling work and kids.

Made in China

Since Lucas can read, he has been reading labels on the items, especially his toys. When he see items that did not say 'Made in China', he gets excited.

A few days ago, early in the morning, he was looking for something in the playroom. Then he sounded annoyed (most likely from not finding what he was looking for) and said 'Why is everything made in China?'.

I was tempted to tell him that 80% (or more) of the consumer goods (especially toys) are made in china. But I ended up telling him, 'Because it is cheap to have things made in China'.

BFF

At 6 year old, he knows the meaning of BFF!

Me: Do you still play chase with Alissa in the morning?
Lucas: No.
Me: Why? Who do you play chase with now?
Lucas: Alissa is not my BFF anymore.
Me: (rather stunned) What is BFF?
Lucas: You don't know?
Me: Yes, I don't know what is BFF.
Lucas: Best friends forever
Me: Oh...so who is your BFF?
Lucas: J and J and J and J.
Me: Who are the Js?
Lucas: Josiah, Jeremy, Joshua, Jaedon.
Me: Why all boys?
Lucas: Because we are playing a new game.

I must say I am rather stunned to know that they are so advance with the BFF and God knows what else they talk about in school.

World Record

Lucas is obsessed with breaking world record and being on newspaper. Each time he think he did something well, he will come to me and asked what is the world record for 6 year old.

He skipped 30 times on a skipping rope and asked me what is the world record for a 6 year old on skipping? When I said I don't know, he said go google it!

He hit the shuttlecock for 15 times and again asked what is the world record.

He balanced himself on a bag (sitting on a ball with hands and legs on air) for 15 seconds and asked what is the world record.

Many times, he asked how can he get himself to appear in newspaper! If I am very good, will I be in the newspaper? And he asked his father if he has been in the newspaper.

Maybe some day, he will break a world record.

Day 2 and 3 in Gym

I had made 3 trips to gym since last week. Yes, not bad and spirit is still strong. For the 2nd and 3rd trip, I ran a little bit further, i.e. 2 km in 20 mins. I kept my speed at 6 and that's the furthest I can go. Next trip, I should either increase the speed or run 30 mins.
Lucas, my mentor, has been keeping track of the distant. Each time I come back from gym, he will ask.
Lucas: Mom, how far did you run today?
Me: 2 km.
Lucas: But you said you will run more than 2km.
Me: 2km is the best I can do.
Lucas: Are you going to run further next time?
Me: I'll try.

I did another exercise on a step machine. Was told it is good for my butt. And I still do the weight lift for my legs (increase to 3kg) and arms (still at 2 kg).

Chloe's 4th Birthday Promises

Chloe, not sure if she is aware of what she is doing, has been making promises on things she will do when she turns 4. She said she will:
1. pooh in the toilet (she is doing her big business on her diaper now).
2. do away with her soft blue handkie (her comfort toy for bedtime).
3. buckle herself when she is on her car seat

I was trying to get her to promise to sleep on her own, and she firmly replied, 'but I am still so small!'
Lucas has been keeping track of her promises and said will remind her of her promises when she is 4.
Well, it is only 4 months away.
