You Don't Know Anything

Last weekend was quite a long weekend with 2 days of public holidays coupled with weekends. Dominic was travelling and I took the kids to stay with my parents.
Two third of the journey, Lucas suddenly remembered he did not bring any books with him. He insisted that I turned back to the house and I refused. We already had been on the road for 40 mins. He was annoyed. Then he said there is 24 hours a day, which is correct. The time he wakes up till the time he goes to bed is 24 hours. I told him it is only 12 or 13 hours. The other hours are when he was sleeping. He did not believed me and was annoyed even more. Then he blurted out 'Mommy, you don't know anything. You only know I have a lot of taxis!' I replied, 'If you said so'. He quickly added 'Yes, I said so'. What a fierce boy. Do you call this parent abuse?

Chloe is not any better either. One morning, I was picking her up from her bed in the morning. She asked 'milk, where?'. Then during breakfast, while I was feeding her cereal, she pointed at her yogurt and said 'Now. now.'

Wow....they are not even 5 and already talk to parents this way. Am I the only parent who get abused by the kids?
