Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year.
The first day and second day passed so fast....
I have a reunion with my secondary school classmates last Saturday, had lunch at my parent's place on the eve and dinner at in-law's place. Visited both in-laws and parents again on the first day...and today the second day, we get to chill at home. Took the kids for a swim this morning and I will be cooking my version of Chinese New Year dinner tonight!

Last Friday, Chloe finally did not cry when Dominic dropped her at school. But unfortunately she is having a week holiday and we will have to start all over again on coming Monday!

I have to physically go to office more than I thought and it is causing a lot of stress for me and the kids!

Chinese New Year

CNY comes and goes by. We had our usual CNY activities such as visiting the grandparents. On the eve, we went to the in-laws' place for dinner. Then I stayed over at my parent's place from the first day to the third day. Fourth day is a working day for me and fifth day is a school day for Lucas. Since we have a so-called bigger place than previously, we even entertained friends at home now. We had a friend who came on the third day for wine and peanuts, and a group a friends on the seventh day for Klang Bah Kut Teh dinner. It must say it is nice to be able to entertained friends at home. It it nice to have a dining table that fits 8 people and enough chairs for everyone to sit. All these at the comfort at home and safe place for the kids (friends' kids included) to run around. It is sign of getting old - like to stay at home instead of going out!!!

New Year, New Improvements

It's the Ox year and so far, so good. There were so much happening and I just have not time or too tired to blog. Let's start with the New Year. I was looking forward to some 'free time' by planning to spend 2 days in my parent's house on first and second day. Unfortunately, I was downed with a very bad food poisoning on the first day. I barely have any energy to walk or do anything. Dominic was busy minding Lucas so that I can get some rest. There were quite a number of children in my parent's place but Lucas refused to play with them. He just stick to us like a koala bear. There goes my wishful thinking of some 'free time'. Dominic even commented to Lucas, 'Why are you so anti-social?'. I am beginning to wonder how can I make him more sociable. What have I not done enough? I have a one year old niece who called out for Lucas each time she sees him passes by. But this boy just refused to acknowledge or even bother look at his cousin.

However, this Chinese New Year he has learned to appreciate firecrackers i.e. the 'pop-pop' and the smaller rocket. He enjoys eating cookies especially the cookies with crushed peanuts. Despite all the new findings, he still doesn't know the concept of 'angpow' though. Maybe next year...

His potty training has improved as well. He still sleeps with his diaper but he is quite alright during his waking hours. Oh..once we were doing grocery shopping in Tesco and he needed to go to the toilet. I took him to the toilet but he refused to sit on the toilet. He said 'dirty', (Malaysia is not exactly known for clean toilet anyhow). We had to rush home to prevent any accident from happening.
