You are Perfect!
One day, on the way to school, we had this conversation:
Chloe: Mom, are you fat or thin?
Me: Errr...I am medium.
Lucas: No, Mom. You are perfect!
Me: YES, thank you.

My kids are afraid of sleeping and eating. This has been awhile back, but quite good. Lucas was on cough medication which made him gorgy. He was sitting quietly on the sofa. I asked:
Me: Lucas, are you sleepy?
Lucas: NO, I'm not (sounded annoyed)
Me: OK

This morning, Dominic sent the kids to school. When he gets home, he said 'I am so blurred. I forgot about the girl until I was outside the school compound. I only realised I forgot to drop her off until after I leave the school. I have to drive to the school again to drop her'. How blur can that be.
Then, I saw all the FB postings wishing Happy Mid-Autumn Festival. I was telling myself aren't these people a bit slow. The festival was on Tuesday and today is Thursday. Then I checked the calendar and found out it is today! And on Tuesday, I was happily telling everyone it is the festival. We finished eating the mooncake, finished burning the candles and lantern. Duh....I have to go and buy some mooncake for today. Another blur sotong....me.
Past few days have been eventful. We have a burst pipe in front of the house. The water pressure was too low to fill the tank. We have to conserve water until someone fixed the pipe. And we were cutting it really really close. The tank was empty by 4pm. We could not flush the toilet and there was definitely no water for shower. The workers fixed the problem at 5pm. We are not allowed to switch on the water until 11pm. The glue needs time to dry. So, what did we do?? We went to the club for a swim, had our shower there, go out for dinner, send Lucas to his drum lesson, pick up our laundry on the way home. By the time we get home and tuck the kids to bed, it was 10pm. We switched on the water and flush all the toilets....lol
And today, we had an uninvited guest. A snake!! There was a black snake in the garden. I called the guard. By the time the guard arrived, the snake already found a place to hide, underneath the neighbour's concrete backyard. I hope the snake has moved far far away. Isn't it a good omen if a snake comes to visit, or no?
Lucas can be aggressive if he chooses to, especially when he talks to me. One day, we were in the car. There were ants on his seat. He was making a fuss. This was because during car pool, the kids eat in the car.
Lucas: Mom, there are ants everywhere.
Me: That's because you and J eat in the car. The biscuit crumbs are everywhere. You and J should stopped eating in the car.
Lucas: J started it and you can asked him to stop.
Me: I was driving. You should ask him to stop eating since you can see him and you sit besides him.
Lucas: You drive with your hands. Your bare mouth are not driving. You can asked him to stop eating!
I stopped talking because I sometimes talk in this manner. :(

Last post was about second week of holiday and this post was about second week of school. Holiday comes and goes. What did they do? They had cousins visiting. Lots of playing time with cousins. And this week is the second week of school. Chloe is in Reception and Lucas in Year 2. When school starts, they were both very excited. I'm suppose I am glad that they enjoy school. There is no problem adjusting. Lucas doesn't want me to walk with him to his class in the morning. He said he can manage. Chloe has the same classroom and same teacher as last year. So, it was not a problem at all. The only adjustment is having to sleep early and wake up early.
These two days have been difficult for me in the morning. When I sent them to school, the conversation is always around why can't I keep a pet. Told Lucas many many times why but that did not stop him from asking.
