Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year.
The first day and second day passed so fast....
I have a reunion with my secondary school classmates last Saturday, had lunch at my parent's place on the eve and dinner at in-law's place. Visited both in-laws and parents again on the first day...and today the second day, we get to chill at home. Took the kids for a swim this morning and I will be cooking my version of Chinese New Year dinner tonight!

Last Friday, Chloe finally did not cry when Dominic dropped her at school. But unfortunately she is having a week holiday and we will have to start all over again on coming Monday!

I have to physically go to office more than I thought and it is causing a lot of stress for me and the kids!

Chloe First Day in Nursery

Last Thursday, Chloe started her first day in Nursery. It is the same school as her Playschool, so she is familiar with the place and the teachers. The difference is in Playschool, I was in the class with her all the time. Now in Nursery, I am not in the classroom with her.
The first day was as expected. Tears. The second day was also as expected, more tears. However, today, her seventh day. the tears are even more and the wailing is even louder!! For the past few days, during her journey to school, she started saying 'I don't want to go to school'. When I entered the carpark, she started sobbing. When I passed her to the teacher, she started wailing. Today, she cried the loudest in her class. Wonder when the tears are going to stop.
When I picked her up to go home, she is in very jovial mode. The teacher said she cried for a few mins and then settled down. She is very bubbly after that and do all her activities.

In her uniform on the first day of school. Her uniform is so big even after alteration. I bought her shoes 2 size bigger as her previous shoes only lasted 4 months before she outgrown them. She is 'swimming' in her clothes and shoes at the moment.

Happy 2012

Happy New Year!
New year, new beginning...
To welcome the new year, we did something different this year. We checked ourselves into a hotel at the heart of all the happening...near KLCC. We went around lunch time on the eve, checked-in, had lunch, rest in our room, went for dinner and watched performanced leading to the countdown and then finally the firework.
Everything was good except that the fireworks were too laud for the kids. They were afraid.

The kids got excited with the changed of environment. Jumping on the bed for 20 mins after we checked in.

Malaysia's iconic building. This is as good as we can get. Clear sky and almost postcard like background.

Not sure how much she understand what she was reading.

We received complimentary cupcakes that said '2012' and 'Happy New Year'. The kids were eyeing the icing.

Waiting for the fireworks to start just outside the hotel entrance.

Fireworks literally 'rained' on us. The hotel conceirge warned us about the falling ashes and gave us umbrella. However, it was too laud for the kids. Chloe was crying and Lucas was hiding behind me. I had to take them into the hotel lobby before the fireworks end.

Lucas asked for breakfast in bed and we gave him the experience. Seen here still in pyjamas. We went to sleep at 1am and the breakfast came at 8.45am!
