Lame and Boring

My kids' new favourite word is lame for Lucas and boring for Chloe. They must have picked up the words from TV! Whenever I asked him about something he doesn't like, he will say it is so lame.

Me: Why didn''t you don't want to buy for J?
Lucas: They are playing very lame games.

Me: Why don't you bring this to school?
Lucas: It is so lame.

One day, I told him, only lame people think things are lame. He strongly disagreed with what I said.

Me: Shall we go to the swing?
Chloe: OK, it is so boring at home.

Me: Why are you always reading the same book. Should we read 'Heidi'?
Chloe: No, 'Heidi'is so boring.

One day, I told Chloe the same line, only boring people say things are boring. She replied, 'Í am not boring!'

One time, I got it back at Lucas

Lucas: Mom. when can we go London?
Me: We will not for a long time.
Lucas: Why?
Me: Because you will say London is so lame.
Lucas: No, I will not!

Happy 2013!

2012 comes and goes, and I believe 2013 will soon come and go. Since time flies, I might as well enjoy it.
My 2 weeks vacation came and went too! This week is my second week of work. The time off was really good. I felt rested and accomplished a lot at home. I managed to sort out the kids' storage space. Got more shelves for them to store their toys and books. Fixed what need to be fixed at home and catch up with quite a few old colleagues.

This new year eve, we were staying at a hotel in the city center again. Different hotel from last year. I took the kids for shopping in the morning while waiting for them to get the room ready. After, we laze in the room and the club floor. Then at 6pm +, the club floor was serving free flow alcohol. I had 6 glasses of champagne and Dominic had equally much. We were already tipsy way before the countdown. Kids did not have afternoon map and were asleep by 10pm. At midnight, Dominic and I were watching the fireworks from our room. The kids were sound asleep.

We were at Legoland too. The trip was good and relaxing and fortunately not too hot. The kids and us enjoyed ourselves. I will post some pictures once I have the pictures copy to this new computer. Old computer WIFI and network decided to stop working (sounds familiar). That's why I haven't been posting.

First week of work and school was tough. Hard to get up early and the body was still in hibernation mode. To make it worse, I had such stomach discomfort from indigestion. This week is better and back to normal.

We told Lucas about new year resolution and here are some of his resolutions:
- to cycle with 2 wheels
- to be able to swim
- to sleep in his own room (we tried to sell him this idea but he said maybe next year)
