Lil' Rockers in Hard Rock

This week is the kids' mid term break. They have one week off and we set to Penang to visit relatives and go to the beach. It was a great trip for the kids. Lucas said 'I love it!', and Chloe said 'I had so much fun!'. Hard Rock Hotel Penang has been greatly review. Friends with young children who had been they said the kids love the pool and slides. So, we book ourselves a lagoon room .i.e the room patio is by the pool. We can just jump to the pool from the room.
We were at the pool most of the daytime. Chloe is so tan and I have headache from the heat. We had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe twice. Burger was good but grilled food was not so great.
Kids asked to go back during Easter holiday. Let's see. I think I have enough heat and we don't have to sit 5 hours in a car to go to a nice pool.

We can walk or jump to the pool from the room. Very interesting concept. The water slides are in the background.

We were at the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and the cafe is celebrating Oktoberfest. In one of the game, the emcee asked for the smallest ladies' shoes, and yours truly won! Lucas is representing me and he won an Oktoberfest beer mug. Look at all the 'Bavarian' girls looking at Lucas.

The Batu Ferringi beach. The kids are not crazy about beach and sea.

Checking out the pool before they dive in. This pool is interesting - it has sands at the bottom, just like under the sea. Lucas loves this pool.

Waiting for the pizza to come.

Meeting with the teachers

Today, I had progress meeting with the kids' teacher. It was very fruitful and I was pleased.

Chloe is settling well. She has good attention span and fully aware of what's going on. She is not shy, she asked if she needs something. She understand and comply with the teacher's instruction. She plays alongside with her friends, but not with her friends. The teacher is working on getting her interacting with her friends.

Lucas is doing well too. His teacher insisted that he is not shy but just quiet. He asked if he is not sure, he puts up his hand to volunteer to answer the questions, he talks in front of the class when he has to, he works well when he is partner with a classmate or in group. I was telling the teacher that he is bored at times in class. He finds the Math is too easy and the reading book is too easy. His teacher will do something about it. The only complain the teacher has is he goes to toilet a bit too often. She was wondering if he is trying to walk out from his boredom in the classroom....lol.

Lucas is 6!

Lucas just turned 6! His grandfather said he has very interesting character, and I will tell you why shortly.
He usually had 3 celebrations and Chloe is already questioning why his brother has 3 birthday cakes and she only had one!

Lucas was born on Mid Autumn Day i.e. the 15th day on the 8th month in lunar calendar. We usually celebrate that festival at my parents' place and naturally we celebrate his birthday as well. That's the first cake. Lucas also brings birthday cake to his classmates in school. That's the second cake. And finally we celebrate his birthday on his actual day with my in-laws. That's the third cake.

He chose all his birthday cakes. He wanted angry bird jelly cake, cup cakes for his classmates, and a chocolate cake.
What did he asked for his presents? What else other than something on the iPad, and a 100 Euro note.Later he changed his mind to US$100 note. The note cannot be framed or laminated. He has to be able to put it in his wallet. Any other presents are not so interesting. He hardly touched the books I got for him and all the toys he received.

At the end of the day, he said to me, 'Mom, thanks for all the present. I had fun' and gave me a hug. That was the priceless gift I received from him!

Celebrating at my parents' place with his cousins.

The cupcakes he chose to bring to school. After school, he said the cupcakes were not so nice. It was a bit too sugary, he said.

The answer to 'To work or not to work?'

Lucas read this blog. He is well aware of what I wrote on the blog. Just now, he read and came to me and said,
Lucas: Mom, I know the answer to to work or not to work.
Me: What's the answer?
Lucas: You work, earn lots money and then you don't work and take care of us.

How cute.

And he went on to comment that Chloe has more than 6 waking hours cause she starts school at 8.30am and finishes at 1.15pm, and she goes to bed at 9.30pm.

And he went on again saying that I will write in the blog when he turns 6 in 2 days saying 'Lucas is 6. Happy Birthday', just like what I wrote for Chloe.

Well, he is already dictating what I should write.

Lucas, I know you are reading this!!
