Lucas in Bali

We took Lucas to Bali last week. It was his first 'holiday'. Spent 3 nights there. We stayed at Intercontinental in Jimbaran, a beach resort. Lucas just loved the beach! Playing with the sand is the only thing he can keep himself occupied for hours. It is his best 'toy'. Now, we are cracking our head looking for a decent beach for weekend trip, and without burning a hole in our wallet.

I was last in Bali back in 2001. This is my second trip and I still find it a beautiful island. Life can be quite laid back and peaceful. We spent a day visiting tourist attractions in Ubud (arts and cultural area), sunset at Kuta, and sight-seeing padi fields. And we spent a day lazing on the beach. And I had a Balinese massage. What a holiday.

Lucas is 13 months old

Lucas turns 13 months today. His new development or milestones are:
1. He weighs 10 kg (22 lbs).
2. He is 77 cm (30 in) tall.
3. He babbles a lot but can say 'mama', 'mum-mum' (food), 'bird', 'ball', 'book', 'down', 'ty' (aunty), 'da' (daddy), 'there'.
4. He can gesture 'no' with his hand. Quite cute.
5. He eats 3 solids (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and 3 feed of milk, 7 oz each feed a day.
6. He can walk quite steadily.
7. He knows how to protest when he is being told to do something he doesn't want or like. Eg. when I tell him to 'stop throwing your spoon', he will raise a voice a bit and babbles away.
8. He can feed himself very well with his hand but not spoon.
9. He sleeps an average 12-14 hours a day.
10. He has 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 at the bottom.
11. He is also getting naughtier. Terrible two starts early for him!
