Sitting and crawling at 6 1/2 month

Lucas, my six and a half month old son is able to sit and crawl. Of course he is happier being more mobile now..I realised that he is also becoming more independent..play on his own for a longer period. He is going after anything he can reach especially items at his height. Time to child-proof the house!

I have a friend over yesterday and she mentioned that the floor has to be clean everday now that Lucas is crawling. I said that I had the floor mopped twice or max 3 times a week. She was rather surprised. She must be wondering what a dirty mother I am! Talking about cleanliness, I seems to have friends who thought I am rather 'dirty' ..... firstly, I don't mopped the floor everyday, secondly I don't sterilize the bottle after each feed, but once a day (that means a bottle would have been used twice). When I mentioned this to friends, I usually get 'stunning' stares from them......my husband consoles me by saying Lucas has to build up his immune system else he can't take hawker food when he grows up.. Hey, I have no maid to help okay:-)

Wait another few months

My job search is temporarily halted for another few months. We are going to the States for my husband 4 months project ..... by the time we are back, I will be officially unemployed for a year! How time flies.

My ex-company offered me a 12 months job in S'pore. It was very tempting of course...pay lower income tax and earning ever appreciating S'pore dollar instead of depreciating ringgit. But the thought of uprooting even for 12 months is intimidating. How is going to look after my son? If there is emergency, they will be no grandparents around to help. And now with the inpending move to the States and all the preparation. it is just too much to think about work.

I was thinking to myself the other day..if I were to go back to work, will I be able to concentrate on my work, or will I be calling the babysitter every half hour to see what is my son up to? After taking care of my son since his birth (except for one week in Melbourne without him), it will be the best balance if I work for max 4 days a week and stay home 3 days a week with him. Preferably work without long working hour. Wonder if I will ever find such a job!

I finally bought my notebook after numerous research and pondering. I ordered a Dell 640m..with pretty high end specs and relatively reasonable price.

My husband suggested I should blog my son growth development...maybe I should just do that as well as my job search will be on hold for another few months..

Travelling

I just had a 'break' from my six month old son, Lucas, two weeks ago. I followed my husband to Melbourne on his business trip. This is the first time I leave my son. I 'parked' my son with my mom. The first two days felt good. I felt like the days before Lucas was born...carefree. But by the third day, I felt something was missing. Then I realised that I would rather have him beside me with interrupted sleep than to sleep peacefully without him. Now, I don't mind him waking me up in the middle of the night.

The packing was quite tedious. I used to pack for myself and my husband. Now I have to pack for three!. I of course forgot to bring my husband business shirt. He had to recycle his shirt. This is of course not so good as he is meeting client.

My job serach has mometarily halted. I updated my CV..finally... My husband will be on a four months job in LA and the whole family will be moving there. Then, there is a long list of to-dos before we leave and a long list of to bring...Job will just have to wait for the time being.

However, my notebook search is still on. I am debating whether to get a Toshiba Portege M500-1221E or a Compaq Presario B1958TU. I am seriously keen on the Portege but the con is I have to pay extra RM430 to upgrade Vsita Basic to Premium. This comes out to be more than 5K. Still waiting for the Toshiba sales guy to get back to me if he can do anything about it. Meanwhile the Compaq is very reasonably priced. But honestly, I am quite tired of Compaq. Usually gives me problem after the warranty expired and the support is so-so. Let's see.
